ExxonMobil PNG Limited donates laptops to Don Bosco

Staff and students receiving Laptops from ExxonMobil PNG.
ExxonMobil PNG Limited (EMPNG), the operator of the PNG LNG Project, has donated 30 laptops to students of Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) in Port Moresby.

The support will give female students the ability to have safe access to computer facilities to help
them meet their education goals and improve their learning opportunities.
At the presentation Sister Alice, Directress of the Mary Our Help Ladies Dormitory of DBTI,
thanked EMPNG for the kind donation and encouraged the students to utilise the laptops to boost
their learning.
“This support from ExxonMobil is highly appreciated and very timely to help many students that
do not have computers,” said Sister Alice.
“Computers are a necessary tool for any student, especially in tertiary level of education for their
assignments and course work. This support from ExxonMobil will help immensely with their
studies,” she added.
Carolyn Lubang, a second year Machine Fitting and Maintenance Technology student, thanked
ExxonMobil for the donation and said that being able to have access to this tool is necessary for
daily learning, and will help with writing assignments or applications.
Peter Graham, EMPNG Managing Director, said investing in education is a key priority for the
company.
“I’m sure that these laptops will assist these young students with their studies. These days,
technology is so important for learning, and we hope that this donation of laptops benefits their
grades and studies,” he said. “Access to computers and to the internet opens up a pathway to a
vast amount of information that can support their learning.”
DBTI is a Catholic-run tertiary institution aimed at training local teachers for technical and
vocational schools and skilled technicians for industries. It is affiliated with the Divine Word
University in Madang and is an accredited training provider by the National Training Council.
