'Grace' makers say film era is here
A new television series titled 'Grace' is hoping to kick start a new era in PNG's history by bringing about the dawn of a PNG movie and film industry.
In what has previously been an international business, the making of films and documentaries by Papua New Guinean directors and producers maybe soon at hand.
The creative team behind "Grace", say that their idea becoming a reality will give rise to a new breed of talented individuals who are in dire need for exposure that has been lacking.
Grace is the story of a young girl's journey from her village in the Highlands to the bright lights of Port Moresby, and the challenges she overcomes on the way to becoming a lawyer.
Director McPolly Koima says the story deals with local issues like gender inequality, violence against women and polygamy.
