New Koki Market opens
The newly redone Koki market was officially opened today by Prime Minister Peter O’Neil together with the governor for NCD Powes Parkop.
Eight 8million Kina funding given to the Moresby south member Justine Tkatchenko for the upgrade of Koki market has been deemed successful as the market was opened today by Prime Minister Peter O’Neil and Governor for NCD Powes Parkop.
Tkatchenko said the market has well furnished facilities with sections allocated for different food types and even special places set aside for specific ethnic groups.
Four (4) classrooms were also built within the market for the TVET program along with Thirty-six (36) small shops and a place for precooked food at the edge.
According to the Prime Minister, a section will be made especially for the sale of betel nut in Koki and every other market in the city.
