Two new tourist attraction sites open in Port Moresby
An original Trobriand Island “Yam Haus” and a “Bird of Paradise” exhibit were made possible through support from the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA).
The new displays are expected to lure more visitors to Nature Park.

Port Moresby Nature Park General Manager Michelle McGeorge was thankful to TPA for supporting the exhibits, which enable the park to showcase both PNG’s rich culture and amazing wildlife for overseas visitors, as well as residents.
TPA Director of Policy and Planning Alcinda Trawen said TPA was happy to continue supporting Nature Park as one of the country’s leading attractions.
The other attraction also opened at the event was the upgrade and restoration of an old aviary. Thanks to Niugini Glass and Aluminum, and TPA, it now includes a full glass-frontage viewing area, which now provides an unobstructed view of the birds for visitors.
Nature Park is also looking forward to building its next big attraction. The park is aiming to complete and open a reptile house right before the 2015 Pacific Games, to fascinate visitors.
