Churches over the last few decades have contributed immensely to the communities around them, in all provinces of the nation.”
This was the keynote address of the Health, and HIV AIDS Minister and Moresby North West MP Michael Malabag today.
Minister Malabag made these remarks while officiating at the Gerehu United Church 25th anniversary celebration.
“Churches as the United Church have developed the sectors of health, education and social conditions.”
Meanwhile, on behalf of the Minister, his first secretary Guba Jack Daera presented a dummy cheque of K100, 000 to the church in support of their activities and contribution to the North West community.
“This cheque is from my District Services Improvement Programme funds and I will ensure to hand over the monies once my funds have been distributed by the Finance Ministry.”
“More leaders should be supporting and investing in churches for the vital role they play in assisting to develop our youth and families.”
It is understood the Minister has pledged another K100, 000 later on in the year around June.
