Fiji Batis beat PNG Kumuls 22 - 10

The Papua New Guinea Kumuls went down to the Fiji Batis 22 - 10 in Rugby League Pacific Test Match . Boosted by all NRL stars the Batis showed their class in the first half by outclassing the Kumuls with 18 - 0 lead. Melbourne Storms star Marika Koroibete was outstanding with a double that helped Fiji overcome Papua New Guinea in a historic rugby league Test on the Gold Coast.
The Batis scored three tries in the first half and kept the Kumuls scoreless with some solid defence.
In the second half, Matt Trnka finally got PNG on the board in the 53rd minute when Kato Ottio somehow offloaded off the ground for the winger to score to trail 18 - 4 with unsuccessful conversion.
PNG scored another try after Albert bulldozed over three defenders before receiving the green light from the video referee to make it 18-10.
PNG moutained enormous attack on Fiji defence but this was short lived after Bati centre Fabian Goodall iced the result when he intercepted an errant pass by PNG full-back Josh Damen to race 60-metre and score to take the win 22 - 10 at full time.
In other results, Samoa fought hard to take a win over Tonga 18 - 16.
Fiji will meet Samoa in the final later in the year. The winner will advance to the four nations against , Australia, England and New Zealand.
