Vipers slump to yet another defeat while Gurias and Lions suffered first loss of the season
Port Moresby Stop "N" Shop Vipers could not capitalize on home ground advantage as they slump to yet another defeat this time at the hands of Lae Snax Tigers at the Murray Barracks oval in Port Moresby.
Despite Vipers having the services of SP Hunters duo of Adam Korave and Sabastian Pandia who score a try in the first half yet still was not enough to earn them the win as too many ball handling errors were the order of the day.
For the Tigers, it was not a pretty win for them either as they also struggled in the second half with their share of handling errors but did just enough with their defense to get the two points.
In the other Digicel Cup matches played around the country saw Muruks defeated Mioks 26-24 in Wabag, Waghi Tumbe edged Mt Hagen Eagles 11-10, While competition pace setters TNA Simbu Lions and Rabaul Agmark Gurias suffered their first loss of the season.
Lions were humbled by reigning premiers Hela Kemele Wigman 34-14 while Gurias could not hold out a fast finishing Goroka Bintangor Lahanis who scored a last minute try to sink the Gurias by 30-28.
