Enga Governor Peter Ipatas knighted
Governor of the Enga Province Peter Ipatas has been bestowed with the Knight Commander or KBE, the highest under the civil category of the Order of British Empire.
He will be called Sir Peter Ipatas and was recognized for his distinguished service to the community through his economic and social development contribution.
Ipatas is serving his fourth term in Parliament, and is commonly termed "action governor" and "father of free education".
Former National and Supreme Court judge Warwick Andrews, Businessman George Konstantinou and Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen have been recognised with Knight honours.
Other notable persons to receive awards under different categories include Central Bank Governor Loi Bakani as well as politicians Mao Zeming, Anderson Aigiru, Michael Malabag and Jim Miringtoro.
Winni Kiap PNGs Ambassador to Great Britain will also be recognised as a Dame for her services to the public sector.
