Papua New Guinean Bankers Seconded to Solomons
Two of Bank South Pacific's (BSP) Papua New Guinea based staff members have been appointed to management roles in BSP's Solomon Island operations.Paul Kalai has been appointed to Manager Retail Operations and Theresa Kalivakoyo is the Financial Controller of BSP Solomon Islands Operations.
Mr Kalai's brings with him over 20 years of banking experience, his career spans from a telling, a branch manager and also an Area Manager. Mr Kalai was previously the Retail Project Manager- BSP Retail Staff Development.
"I have BSP to thank for this opportunity, the management and staff who have supported me. It is truly an honor to fly the flag of BSP and PNG in our neighboring countries," Mr Kalai said.
Mr Kalai joined the Bank in November 1992. Since then he has progressed well in his career performing various roles. He started as a Customer Service Officer climbing up to Branch Manager within the Retail Banking.
Theresa Kalivakoyo is a CPA qualified accountant with over 16 years' experience in hotelier, mining, electricity industries in PNG.
"I would like to thank the management for the great opportunity given to me. The role in Solomon Islands will be definitely challenging, but I'm sure to do my best to assist my fellow colleagues in the operations in PNG and the Solomon Islands," Ms Kalivakoyo said.
She joined BSP in April 2014 as the Business Controller at BSP Capital has been a hard and committed employee for the company.
