Penrith Panthers plan to have a trial match in Port Moresby
Penrith Panthers and Australiam Prime Minister 13 coach Ivan Cleary stated in a media conference that the Panthers will look forward to have a trial NRL match in Port Moresby next year.
When asked if the Australian NRL will be looking to play any of their matches in and around the Pacific Islands.
Cleary said: "I don’t know about the NRL but for the Panthers, we are looking for a Panthers game to be held here in the not too distant future,"
Cleary highly commended the caliber of the Albert brothers, Stanton and Wellington, who are currently out injured.
"Stanton is a tough player and is a regular starter in our NYC...that was before he got his knees knocked out but they are quality players and are coming through the ranks well," Cleary said.
Cleary added that most Australian clubs will be looking towards Pacific Island players and this has been shown in the examples of the Albert brothers and Marika Koroibete from Fiji
