Telikom National Soccer League kicks off

Telikom NSL champions Lae City Dwellers opened their season with a big bang as they thrashed newcomers Goroka FC 5 goals to nil in the main game of the Northern Confederate challenge in Lae at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium as the 2015/2016 season kicked off today.

In the other early results in Lae, Welgris Morobe United beat Admiralty FC 1-0 while Besta PNG United FC upset Madang FC 2-1.

While in Port Moresby the Southern Confederate kicked off its first match of the day between newcomers Huawei PS United and FC Pom at the Bisini Soccer grounds with PS United pulling off an upset coming from behind to score 2 goals in the second half to win 3-2.

In the main game saw the much fancied Hekari United FC defeated Gigira Laitepo United FC 4-2 to open their season with a win as Hekari and Dwellers begin preparations for their OFC Champions League campaign.

Tomorrow will see Erema Gulf FC taking on PKA Rapatona FC wrapping up the first round at the Bisini Sports Complex. PNGFM.
