ALESCO payroll system for church health workers
Church Health workers under Christian Health Services PNG will now be paid on time using the newly launched ALESCO payroll system by the government. This is according to the health secretary Pasco Kase during the launch yesterday.
Mr Pasco who was speaking on behalf of the health minister said the security of the church health workers pay was a problem especially in the rural areas where 60% of health services in the country are located. Mr Kase added that church-run services complement the government services and this project (ALESCO Payroll) is a milestone for a collaborative public service delivery.
As of pay number 25, trainers and teaching staff in church run health training institutions will receive their pay via the payroll system and early next year the ALESCO payroll system will include the rural health workers.
