Condom Saga : Female victim in need of Medical attention

A close relative of the young female victim, who was forced to swallow condoms by a group of policemen at the Boroko Police Station, says that their priority now is to ensure she receives urgent medical attention.

Her story made headlines not only on the local media, but also from overseas after the video of her ordeal was publicized on Facebook last week

The victim, who is now bed ridden and sick, told her family that she was walking through a street at 3mile almost 3 weeks ago, when a police vehicle with 5 police officers on board picked her up, assuming she was a sex worker, and took her to the police station. 

She had with her a plastic of condom and pills, as she was returning from the antenatal clinic. 

She added that at the station she was then asked to swallow the condoms and then abused. Allegations of rape are still to be confirmed at this stage, she the young female will soon receive medical attention and is willing to come forward soon to lay a complaint with the assistance of her family. 

Meanwhile, NCD Police Boss, Ben TURI when questioned of progress into their investigations, conveyed is sympathy towards the victim and says he is aware of which officers were involved, although no arrests have been made as yet and will ensure that once a complaint is made, he will deal with the officers immediately.
