Henganof finishes 2015 without tribal fights

The member for Henganoffi & Police Minister Hon Robert Atiyafa has taken this time to wish his people a very merry Christmas and prosperous 2016.
In doing so Hon Robert Atiyafa thanked the people for making this year a peaceful one and also thanked the O’Neill-Dion government for their continuous support and assistance.
He said this year the people have done him proud seeing that they have completely finished all the tribal fights in the district and upholding of law and order has been we take cared for.
"I am proud of my people of Henganoffi as we did not see or experience any law and order issues like we used to in recent time all thanks to my district committee and magistrates and i am also thankful for the DSIP funds that the O'Neill-Dion government has released to us MPs in ensuring key projects areas in Health, Education and Law and Order are take cared for," said Atiyafa.
He said that the O’Neill-Dion Government’s timely distribution of the DSIP Funds this year has helped many districts throughout the country to successfully implement projects in key areas such as health, education and law and order.

Furthermore, the people of Henganofi have been praised for keeping their faith alive during the drought period caused by the Elnino Weather.
Local MP Robert Atiyafa thanked the people for bearing with him and his administration in bringing in much needed relief supplies to assist them.

He also challenged his people to change their ways and attitudes.
He said their characters and behavior that they have portrayed this year must not be the same next year.
"My people need to change their behaviors i don't want laziness, work hard and get things done for the betterment of yourself and for the development of our district and our province and PNG at large," said Atiyafa.

Minister Atiyafa also challenged the National Government after seeing that the government was caught by surprise this year in addressing the drought in the country.
He said that Disaster funds must be of priority and has to be budgeted for every year even though there is no disaster.

Furthermore, he thanked all the members of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, the commissioners and their deputies for their hard work in 2015.
"Although the police have received criticism and bad name, they proved to do their job in limiting law and order problems in the country," said Atiyafa.
