PNG Army and Police to look for ways to end future confrontations
The PNG Defence Force is looking at having further talks with the police to really try to address and put a stop to these continuous problems with the two disciplinary forces.
Army Chief of Staff, Col. Mark Goina says the Army wants to have a joint press conference with Police and try to come with tougher measures and disciplinary processes to end future incidences like the recent one and the previous ones between the two forces.
Goina thinks measures like more restrictions in the use of firearms by police and tougher measures in place to restrict soldiers from taking the law into their own hands should be in place to prevent any more confrontation between the two in the future.
Meantime, the Army is still waiting for the Police Commissioner to get back to them on this matter.
