Soso appointed Acting CEO of Eastern Highlands Health Authority

Joshua Soso appointed Acting CEO of EHP Health Authority 

Mr. Joshua Soso is now the new acting Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority.
Chairman of the Authority, Mr Malcolm Kela Smith made the announcement to staff and stakeholders of the Authority at the provincial hospital mess in Goroka on Wednesday 13th January 2016.
Mr Soso replaces acting CEO Dr. Leonard Numu Kaupa who has been in the position also in an acting capacity for the last six months.
Mr Soso is an accountant by profession and comes with a wealth of experience in the private and public sector.
He also holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of Papua New Guinea. He was Bursar at the University of Goroka, and Deputy Chairman of the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority prior to his appointment.
Mr Soso urged the Board, Management and staff of the Authority to work cooperatively with his management team to provide services to the people using the best health care practices.
He said his short term aim is to implement cost saving measures, improve the level of performance and efficiency, implement budgeting via cost centres, staff restructure, Corporate plan, internal and external audit and instil discipline on staff.
"All staff should be punctual and earn a honest pay. There will be zero tolerance on alcohol and other social behaviour during working hours and on the property of the Health Authority, “said Mr. Soso.
He said the ultimate aim is to meet the expectations of the National Government, the Board and the people of Eastern Highlands province.
