TV WAN official launches NRL in the Park
TV Wan the official NRL broadcaster of Rugby League officially kicked off the NRL in the Park today at the Jack Pidik Park Port Moresby.
The concept behind NRL in the Park is to invite Rugby League fans across the country to take part in pre-season community activities as a family, with events also planned for Mount Hagen, Goroka, Madang, Buka and Kokopo.
The free NRL in the Park concert today at Jack Pidik Park provided a variety of live entertainment by 3 piece band Masterpiece including meeting local rugby league star in Port Moresby Vipers Vice Captain and current Kumul Richard Kambo, heaps of prizes, fun games free Wi-Fi and comedic personalities.
In what is set to be an exciting pre-season build up, fans will also have the opportunity to watch their favourite NRL highlights from past seasons on Digicel big-screens showcasing memorable tries, the biggest tackles and major hit-ups.
Marketing Director of Digicel PNG, Norra Duggan, said the event highlighted to the people of PNG TV Wan and Digicels commitment to Rugby League in PNG.
“By purchasing the Digicel play box for only K69 this allows families in the city and in rural areas to watch the NRL for free, no credits needed at all” she said.
The NRL is arguably the most-loved sport in Papua New Guinea and the NRL in the Park will allow fans to celebrate their favourite game ahead of the 2016 season.
