Ambassador Lupari is new Chief Secretary
Ambassador Issac Lupari is now the new Chief Secretary to the government.
Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has announced this today, after former Secretary to government Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc. vacate the office recently.
Ambassador Lupari has served government as Chief of Staff of the Office of Prime Minister and is a previous Chief Secretary.
The prime minister also acknowledge the outstanding service of the outgoing Chief Secretary, Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc.
Prime minister Peter ONeill when announcing the new Chief Secretary said, Ambassador Issac Lupari has the experience and capability that is needed to guide Government in the face of a challenging global environment, and to advance reforms implemented by outgoing Chief Secretary, Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc.
Peter ONeill said, the Chief Secretary to Government is the most important position in the public service, and Ambassador Lupari will be instrumental in taking the government to the next level in a changing global economy.
PNG like many other commodity exporting nations, has to deal with a number of challengers and its need ongoing strong leadership in the Government bureaucracy, and Ambassador Lupari’s appointment will serve the nation in that capacity.
Meantime, Prime Minister Peter ONeill has thanked the outgoing Chief Secretary, Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc, for his leadership of the public service in PNG and for the people of Morobe.
Peter ONeill said, Leaders of such caliber of Sir Manasupe are rare and it has been an honour to work with this outstanding Papua New Guinean.
ONeill has describe the outgoing Chief Secretary Sir Manasupe as both a strong leader and also a role-model for the men and women of the public service who work under his direction.
Sir Manasupe through his commitment has bought about a lot of reforms and has delivered to the Government.
In particular, strengthening service delivery at the local level through District Development Authorities has been an outstanding achievement of Sir Manasupe as Chief Secretary.
After decades of commitment to the people of PNG , the prime minister has thank Sir Manasupe for his service to the nation and extend his best wishes on his retirement.
