Micah : PPP still with coalition
The People's Progress Party has reinforced its presence in Kavieng district, by absorbing two other long-standing political parties.
PANGU Pati and the Melanesian Alliance branches in Kavieng were dismantled last Wednesday and merged into the People's Progress Party.
Leader of the PPP, Ben Micah, said branch presidents of both PANGU and the Melanesian Alliance, Patrick Simat and Paddy Anis were both present during the amalgamation.
Meantime, Mr. Micah, has denied a statement from the leader of PANGU, Sam Basil, that a partnership has been forged between PANGU and the PPP to work together in the 2017 national election.
He further denied any discussions either at the executive or parliamentary level of such a move.
Mr. Micah said, his party will remain with its coalition partners in Government, when it rides the coming election.
"We are very much integral part of the government, and a Party that is very much committed to go into the elections with the People's National Congress Party, We have very long association with the National Alliance Party and the United Resources Party who are our current partners in the government".
