Paska : PNGTUC never received copy of Coalition Union's petition
The 5 Coalition Unions have expressed disappointment against the PNG Trade Union Congress for not showing support for them in addressing their course of actions.
However, the PNGTUC General Secretary John Paska says the coalition union have failed to submit a copy of their petition to his office and he is totally unaware of the issues at hand.
"I have not received a copy of their petition that they (coalition unions) delivered to the Prime Minister's office and I'm not aware of the content of their petition and cannot comment further on this," said Mr Paska.
He said the PNGTUC is not directly involved with some of the issues that are being raised by the coalition unions.
Mr Paska has also rebutted to several comments regarding PNGTUC of being very quiet and not doing its work.
"I want to make it clear to those people who are not even unionists but seem fit to spread false messages of PNGTUC not doing our job."
"I wan you to know that we are performing everyday and we are doing our job wherever its required of us," said Paska.
He also mentioned that the he was only aware of the Spill & Fill Policy raised by the Communications Workers Union on the media.
"But twice I asked the executives of the communications workers union to come and meet with him, this has not eventuated."
"After 30 years of being in the union circle, i have seen that the best way in getting those in authority to address issues raised by our unions is through constructive and meaningful meetings and not through the use of aggression or strikes," said Mr Paska.
