Landowners release land for Western Pacific University

Proposed location of Western Pacific University in Ialibu, SHP
Six landowner groups in Ialibu, in the Southern Highlands province, have signed a document to release their land for the establishment of Papua New Guinea's 7th university, the Western Pacific University.
The Topupul landowners signed the Deed of Release with the Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, and his delegation this week.
The signing paves way for the project to commence.
The Western Pacific University which the Government plans to become a regional tertiary institution, will enrol over 6-thousand students starting 2017.
It will host engineering and technical studies and training.
The Government paid more than 7-million Kina to local landowners last year for the land that will host the institution. NBC/PNG Today
