PNG Hunters focus on next match, despite loss
The SP PNG Hunters arrived this afternoon from Brisbane with Coach Michael Marum battling a fever and players looking a bit sore from their tough match against the Burleigh Bears yesterday during the annual Kokoda Cup match.
Marum’s assistant, Nigel Hukula said the head coach was not feeling too well before they left for the game last weekend but that has got nothing to do with their loss.
He said despite the disappointing performance against the Bears the team is focused for this weekend’s top of the table clash against Redcliffe Dolphins and Marum is expected to push the boys in training this week to get them ready for this Saturday’s home game.
The SP Hunters have a short turn around to prepare for their Round 9 home game at the National Football Stadium against 2nd placed Redcliffe Dolphins.
This weekend’s game should also see the return of skipper Noel Zeming, Adex Wera and young Watson Boas after missing yesterday’s game through injuries.
The final 17 will be named on Thursday after the captains run. PNGFM / PNG Today
