USP Extends Partnership with Fiji Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.

By Pitz Solo Kaulga

The University of the South Pacific (USP) and Fiji’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MITT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will enable both organizations to work closely to maximize effective cooperation and efficiency. This MOU is an extension of the previous one, which was established between USP’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) and MITT in 2013. USP’s Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rajesh Chandra said the MOU will provide opportunities for USP and MITT to share information, help drive research relevant to the tourism industry, provide opportunities for students to have placements and create relationships and connections for the growth of the tourism industry. “I would like to congratulate the Head of the School and his staff for taking this proactive approach and working in such close partnership with both the Government and industry,” Professor Chandra said.
