Young woman in Police Custody for burying newborn baby alive

A young woman from Manus has been arrested and locked up in jail after she buried her newborn baby into the mud that resulted in the baby's death. Villagers from the lady's village told the incident to PNGFM News network about the incident which in turn reported the case to the nearest Lorengau Police Station on Manus Island. The Police then arrested the lady and charged her with willful murder.
The guilty is a 23 year old by the name of Noelene Pono from Panuselu Village of Rambutso Island in Manus Province.
The fully developed body of the 7 month old fetus which was still alive when discovered by the village children was found on the beach of Panuselu Village on Rambutso Island.
The baby was then taken to the local Panuselu Health Center however did not survive. The young women guilty of this crime will be appearing tomorrow at the Lorengau District Court on the charge of willful murder according to the officer in charge of the Criminal Investigation Division of Lorengau Police Station Markson Gamui.
