PNG Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko congratulates Justin Olam for signing contract with Melboune Storm
Papua New Guinea Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko has congretulated PNG Hunters winger Justin Olam for accepting an offer from the Melbourne Storms.
"Congratulations JUSTIN for getting a contract with the NRL Melbourne Storms next year, Fantastic Achievement...Rugby League is now moving in the right direction" said Tkatchenko via soial media. He said a career path is now set for future Rugby Stars from Papua New Guinea to play in the NRL.
Justin Olam has been offered a two year contract to play for Melbourne Storms in the NRL in 2017 and 2018 seaons.
According to the PNGRFL CEO Mr Bob Cutmore who made the announcement today, Olam will be undergoing a full Medical Examination with Doctors next Monday and if he manages to pass the test his contract will be registered under NRL.
Olam has been under the watchful eyes of Storms Coach, Craig Bellamy following his consistent performance for the Hunters week-in week-out in the Intrust Super Cup competition this year.
His transition from Digicel Cup last year into the SP PNG Hunters this year has seen the young lad from Simbu also making his debut for the PNG Kumuls this month during the NRL Pacific Test.
