The University of Goroka Council has announced the appointment of Dr Musawe Sinebare as the University's vice-chancellor..
Dr Sinebare fills a position which had been vacant following the death of acting vice-chancellor, Associate Professor John Kola, four weeks ago.
Dr Sinebare is a career academic, seasoned researcher, administrator and author, university chancellor Joseph Sukwianomb said yesterday when making the announcement.
"Dr Sinebare is no stranger to tertiary and university education sector since he started his career in teaching, research and administration work, starting at the then Goroka Secondary Teacher Training College, and has been part of the transformation and modernization team that has given that touch of commitment to forward thinking in building modern university in PNG," Mr Sukwianomb said.
Meanwhile, classes at the university will resume next week. The university council suspended classes after students clashed on campus.
