Norths Devils sink PNG Hunters 24 - 8
The SP PNG Hunters misery in playing overseas continues this time going down 24 - 8 to determined Norths Devils outfit at the Bishop Park in Brisbane this afternoon. This is the Hunters fourth loss when playing in Australia this season.
The Hunters were kept scoreless in the first half but only trailed with a penalty goal. The Devils on the other hand scored three tries to take the lead 14 - 2 at half time.
With strong words from coach Michael Marum under the shades, the Hunters started the game strong and scored first try after the resumption of the second half through Noel Zeming. He converted his own try and reduced the margin to 14 - 8.
But that was all from the Hunters for the remainder of the game as the home side dominated possession.
The Devils scored two more tries and a penalty in the last 10 minutes to sealed the game 24 - 8
The Hunters will have another tough challenge next week when they take on Tweed Head Seagulls in round 17 of the competition.
