PNG Hunters name team to face Redcliffe Dolphins
The Papua New Guinea SP Hunters team has been named for round 19 match against Redcliffe Dolphins. Watson Boas and Sailas Gahuna have been omitted from the 18man squad to travel to Brisbane tomorrow for the round 19 clash against Redcliffe Dolphins.
Coach Michael Marum said Boas has been ruled out by the medical staff due to a knee injury while Gahuna has been omitted as only 18 can travel.
“Ate Bina Wabo moves into the half back position, Brandy Peter goes on the interchange bench while William Aquila is the 18th man,” Marum said.
The 18 man travelling squad is:
1. Bland ABAVU
2. Butler MORRIS
3. Justin OLAM
4. Thompson TETEH
5. Adex WERA
6. Ase BOAS
7. Ate Bina WABO

Meanwhile Marum has confirmed that two Digicel Cup players joined the Hunters training squad. Gulf Isapea captain Bernard Goma started training with the Hunters last Tuesday while confirmation has yet to be received from Lae Snax Tigers Junior Rop who is expected to join the Hunters camp next Monday after their match against Hagen Eagles on Sunday.
“Both these players have been very impressive with their respective franchise clubs,” Marum said. “They join the Hunters camp to fit into our training structures and regime.”
Marum said both players will play for their franchise clubs unless the opportunity arises where they may get to play for the SP Hunters during the rest of the season.
