Grade 12 Exams begin
Grade 12’s from all around the country have commenced their two weeks long examination with the first paper for Mathematics yesterday.
De la Sale Secondary School grade 12 students are also part of the thousands who will have the week of examinations to vie for a place in our limited number of tertiary institutions next year.
Principal of the school Mr. James Ume said the exams started smoothly and wished all his grade 12’s the best in the days to come.
“Today there are about 273 grade 12 students sitting for their exams. We expect these students to one day become someone important in their societies and contribute positively to this country’s future growth”.
But in today’s education system, with limited spacing in tertiary institutions, pricey tuition fees, and corrupt practices denting every branch of the system time and again, we should ponder what type of prosperous future are these young students heading for?
Surely their performance in these exams is not the only contributing factor that will determine their success in the future, but will also need a collective input from the highest level down. PNGFM/PNG Today
