Work on new Western Pacific Universiity begins with final payment made
Work on the new Western Pacific University in Southern Highlands began today after the government paid the second and final batch of payment to landowners.
The landowners received K7.5m over the weekend, sealing off the land deal for the university.
Six landowner groups of Tiyembo clan from Koromi Village received the cheques over weekend from the chairman of the university, Father Jan Czuba.
The landowners also signed instruments to lease the 73-hectare land.
An earlier payment of K7.5m was made last year.
The second batch of the payment seals the deal worth K15m.
