World Rugby League CEO in PNG for talks
Chief Executive of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup Andrew Hill, is in the country to hold talks with the Local Organizing Committee on preparations towards hosting the world event in Port Moresby later this year.
Mr. Hill and his officials will hold discussions with Sports Minister Justin Tkatchenko, the PNG Rugby Football League Chairman Sandis Tsaka, National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop, and sponsors of the event.
The 2017 Rugby League world Cup co-hosted by Papua New Guinea, ,Australia and New Zealand will not only see the world’s best rugby league players showcased but will also allow the players to experience PNG’s wide and diverse cultures, people and the environment.
Mr Tsaka said he looks forward to meeting with Andrew Hill as it is an important year for Rugby league in the country as PNG prepares to host this world stage event.
The home games at the National Football stadium in Port Moresby will see PNG play Wales on October 28th, Ireland on November 5th and the USA on November 12th. NBC News/ PNG Today
