PNG Hunters beat East Tigers 30 - 20
The SP PNG Hunters have registered their second win in a row over the East Tigers 30 - 20 at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby this afternoon. In round 1 match last week, the Hunters held off CQ Capras 22 - 16 in Australia.
In today's match, the SP Hunters scored three unanswered tries in the first half with captain Ase Boas made no mistakes with all the conversion to take the lead 18 - 0.
In the second half, the visitors mounted huge pressure on the Hunters defence and scored two quick tries to reduce the margin to 18 - 10. The Hunters replied with a try and extended their lead to 24 - 12. The Tigers scored again and reduced the margin to 24 - 16. Eliab put the Hunters score beyond reach with a try next to the uprights with 5 minutes remaining on the clock. Boas added the extras and the Hunters were leading 30 - 16. The visitors regrouped and scored a try right on full time. Conversion was unsuccessful and the Hunters won the game with 30 - 20.
