Air Vanuatu appoints new General Manager Commercial
Chief executive officer of the national carrier Joseph Laloyer has announced the appointment of Jeff Murdoch to the role of general manager, commercial based in Port-Vila.
Mr. Murdoch brings over 30 years airline experience to Air Vanuatu, including senior roles with Qantas, Air Niugini and Norfolk Air.
“Jeff is a very welcomed addition to the executive and will be responsible for sales and marketing, scheduling and industry relationships,” Mr. Laloyer said.
“We are delighted to have someone with his wealth of experience at a time when Air Vanuatu is continuing to complete our restructure and explores new codeshare agreements.”
Mr. Murdoch’s previous roles include managing codeshare agreements, managing airports, being the Africa manager for Qantas and CEO or Norfolk Air.
“Our commercial departments and regional offices in Australia and New Zealand will report to Jeff. He will also spend his first few weeks reviewing pricing and schedules, meeting with industry reps and getting to know key stakeholders,” the CEO said.
Mr. Murdoch said working for a national carrier was a privilege that comes with great responsibility.
“A strong national carrier is imperative to a strong nation. I will be working to ensure Air Vanuatu is positioned to offer the very best service to our passengers, staff and shareholders,” he said.
