Sir Michale casts vote

Papua New Guinea's Statesman  Sir Michael Somare has cast his vote as an ordinary citizen after retiring from active politics early this year.

It was a historical moment for the Somare family as they witnessed for the first time, their father and grandfather, Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare, cast his vote for another candidate other than himself in East Sepik.

It was also his first time to cast his vote in Wewak and not Karau in Angoram electorate.
He cast his vote alongside, wife, Lady Veronica Somare.

Meanwhile, polling in East Sepik went well without interruption even though the polling boots opened late. PNGTV/PNG Today
