Lae Snax Tigers' Charlie Simon named Captain of PMs XIII to play Australia
Charlie Simon from Lae Snax Tigers will lead as skipper of the newly announced 18 men PM’s 13 team that was named this morning in a ceremony witnessed by the Acting Sports Minister Charlie Raminai at the Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby.
Acting Minister Charlie Raminai at the official team announcement urged the Stanley Tepend coached side "to take pride in the jersey they will wear this weekend against the Kangaroos and perform to their best for the country."
The team was announced by coach Stanley Tepend in front of the PNG Rugby Football League Board and major sponsor National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) Chief Executive Officer Imelda Agon.
PNGRFL chairman Sandis Tsaka said the annual match between Australia and PNG is aimed at driving social messages of Violence against Women and children and strengthens bilateral ties between both countries.
NGCB CEO Imelda Agon said they were happy to support and assist the PNG PM’s 13 team host the annual match.
