Ruling Party denies extending invitation to Pangu Pati MPs
The ruling People's National Congress has denied suggestions they invited members of the Opposition to join the government ranks.
In denying suggestions from the National Alliance party, PNC said: “The people of the country made their will clear when the People's National Congress was returned by a large margin to continue our work of providing free education, better health outcomes and a stronger economy that serves us all.
“We are happy to work with mature leaders willing to put their differences aside for the good of the country.
“The National Alliance party have not proven themselves to be that.”
On Monday (Sept 11), Pangu Party Leader, Sam Basil, officially switched seats, joining the PNC-led Government.
Basil moved with all the PANGU MPs from Morobe Province, including Central Province, Sohe and Lufa.
