Conditions for Registration at Divine Word University - 2018 Academic Year

This is a general  notice issued by the Divine Word University  to continuing new students to let them know of your conditions for enrollment in 2018 academic year. 

Please read carefully and ensure that you comply with the terms and conditions for
registration as outlined below:
PAYMENT OF FEES
1. FEES (NATIONALS): All national students are required to pay K12,000.00 (Medicine & Rural
Health), K11,000.00 (Physiotherapy) or K10,000.00 (all other non-clinical programs) respectively
as the approved fees for the 2018 academic year. Students are encouraged to pay the full fee
before they register for the year. However, if you are unable to meet the full fee you will be
required to pay 70% of the total fee before you are required to register. Please refer to the fee
schedules for the details and pay the required ON REGISTRATION FEE by 31 January, 2018.

2. CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP AND NON-NATIONALS OTHER THAN SOLOMON ISLANDS
Non-Nationals and Students under corporate sponsorship will pay K30,000.00 per annum. At lease
K15,000.00 must be paid up front by 31 January 2018 in order to register. The balance should be
paid by end of May, 2018.
3. FEES (SOLOMON ISLANDERS)
Based on the Council decision to set new fees for Solomon Islanders effective in 2018 all SI will
pay:
a. Those on scholarship arranged under the PNG/SI bilateral arrangements will pay
K15,000.00 per annum.
b. Those sponsored by corporate organizations will pay K30,000.00 per annum which is the
full fee approved by the National Executive Council (NEC) and adopted by the Divine Word
University Council. If students are unable to pay that amount upfront, at least K15,000.00
must be paid by 31 January, 2018 in order to register.
c. All other students will pay the same fee as the PNG students as indicated in 1 above.

4. GUARANTEE LETTERS
The Registrar’s office will not accept guarantee letters to register students, therefore, please
inform your sponsors and guardians of the University’s policy.
5. Students should NOT travel to the Madang unless the ON REGISTRATION FEE HAS BEEN PAID by 31 January, 2018.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION
6. All Students will be required to submit a Medical Report of Health (MRH) using the DWU Medical
Examination Form ATTACHED as a condition for registration. Submission of Medical report of your
health is COMPULSARY and it is a condition of registration. Students who come to the university
without a Medical Report will not be registered during the registration.

CONDITIONS FOR LIVING OFF CAMPUS
7. Students deciding to register as non-residential students will not be allowed to move on to
campus during the year. They will register as non-residential students and maintain this status
until end of the year. Therefore, you are asked to consider this very carefully before you return to
the university and pay the appropriate fees.

DORMITORY ALLOCATION WILL BE BASED ON PAYMENT OF FEES
8. Students who have paid the ON Registration fee and have issued a receipt will be allocated a room
in the dormitory. Therefore, make sure to bring your fee receipt with you as evidence to be
allocated a room.

SIGNING A DECLARATION AS A CONDITION FOR REGISTRATION AS A STUDENT OF DWU
9. As a condition to register as a student of the DWU each student must sign a declaration to agree
to follow all rules and regulations set by the university. This will include the latest revised policies
on Alcohol and Drug use, the Cybercrime Act of 2016 and Vandalism/Malicious damage to
University property(ies). Students must read the revised policy prior to signing the agreement
which is a condition for registration.
