PNG Health Minister Kavapore To Continue Sir Puka’s Projects
Papua New Guinea Health and HIV/AIDS Minister Elias Kapavore will look at progressing some of the work, including immunisation programmes, that his predecessor Sir Puka Temu had started.
Kapavore said immunisation was a key priority and he would ensure that it was maintained.
With a background in health, Kapavore is no stranger to the ministry and said Works should do its part and he would do his part to deliver services to the people.
“Medical supplies was one of the areas that has been an issue in our country for so many years,” he said.
“There is a lot of support from our government.”
Sir Puka handed over the ministry to Kapavore yesterday.
“I am very happy today that our prime minister has appointed Kapavore as the minister for health,” Sir Puka said.
“He is one that is very capable of taking over after me to lead the Ministry of Health and plot a way forward.
“I have confidence in the new minister to take charge of this very important ministry.”
Kapavore said the Government had committed K200 million for health this year.
