PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill resigns, Parliament to elect new Prime Minister on Thursday
Ialibu - Pangia MP Peter O'Neill has resigned as Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea. He announced his resignation in Parliament this morning.
Members of Parliament congratulated him for his achievement over the seven years of his government.
Meanwhile, after addressing the resignation of Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill, Abau MP Sir Puka Temu and Ijivitari MP Richard Masere have moved across to the Government side.
Parliament has been adjourned to 10am tomorrow morning.
