Moderate Earthquake strikes PNG's North Coast
A moderate earthquake of 5 magnitude, struck on the north coast of Madang Province, close to the volcanic Karkar Island Saturday night (10.08).
The seismic monitor website, Volcano Discovery, reports, that the quake occurred at a depth of 26km away from Karkar at around 10:30pm.
There is still no official report from the Rabaul Volcano Observatory or other relevant government seismic observer agencies in the country.
There are also no reports of damages or a tsunami.
