PNG Health Authorities dismiss reports of Coronavirus in Port Moresby
Papua New Guinea health authorities have dismissed reports of Coronavirus in Port Moresby. Executive Manager Public Health Division of the Health Department, Dr. Daoni Esorom has brushed aside reports that a suspected coronavirus case was treated at one of the private hospitals in Port Moresby today.
A Facebook page of one of the private hospitals stated that they attended to a patient who flew in from the Philippines early this morning.
It was reported that the patient presented herself after developing a high fever and respiratory symptoms.
But, Dr. Esorom told NBC National News this afternoon that he actually consulted the patient and the symptoms she developed are not those of the coronavirus.
Dr. Esorom also echoed that PNG still does not have any suspected or confirmed case of the coronavirus.
