PNG Opposition Leader Namah accuses PM Marape for telling lies and taking Falcon Jet to Fiji, NZ
Papua New Guinea Opposition leader Belden Namah has accused Prime Minister for telling lies to his people and taking the Falcon Jet on trips. "James Marape has again been exposed as a liar, grandstander and showman when he broke another promise and flew away in the Falcon Private Jet.
At the start of his time in his office he declared that he would only fly in economy class for official travel.
He flew in economy on only one occasion to Singapore, and every flight since has been in Business Class or on the Falcon Private Jet.
He later admitted in a Facebook post that he had in fact been using Falcon after flight records were leaked online and he admitted. "I have used it 5 times since I took office and I will stop now and take commercial flights unless it's urgent."
Well last week he took the Falcon Private Jet to Fiji, and then flew on to New Zealand and then to Brisbane to see his family before returning to Port Moresby. Why is he again breaking his word and breaking his commitment? Air Niugini flies to Fiji, and he could use other commercial airlines to go to New Zealand, Australia and back to PNG.
I would be the first person to say well done to the Prime Minister for sticking to your word, but he is not sticking to his word.
He told media before departure that he was "flying commercial to Fiji.. on Falcon."
This is just misleading nonsense and another attempt to use sweet and fake words to fool the people of our country because he is still using the Falcon Private Jet.
No matter what financial arrangements might have changed in relation to Falcon and Air Niugini, Falcon is not economy class or business class. It is First Class and this is not an emergency. The Falcon Private Jet is a luxury aircraft that is the type used by Hollywood Stars and billionaires, and the government will pay top dollar for all of Jetset James Marape's flights.
This is a great example of how some people change when power goes to their head. This Prime MInister thinks it is ok to blatantly break his word and say or do anything he wants and fool everyone.
The problem with this Prime Minister is that he makes a lot of promises that he has no intention to keep, and then he is exposed as a liar. The use of Falcon Private Jet is just another example.
It is understood that he has used the Falcon Private Jet for his personal travel, particularly to Manila and Brisbane, despite both cities having direct flights from Port Moresby.
