A number of the Sharks up and coming stars will get the opportunity to press their claims for inclusion in the team for round one when they take to the field in Port Moresby this weekend in a trial match against the Bulldogs.

In what will be the first NRL match, trial or otherwise, played in Papua New Guinea, the Sharks face the Bulldogs in a game kicking off at 5.30pm local time (6.30pm Sydney time) on Saturday.

For the likes of Billy Magoulias, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Toby Rudolf, Connor Tracey and Scott Sorensen, the match takes on extra significance with a handful of positions still up for grabs in the Sharks team ahead of the start of the 2020 NRL season.

Others travelling to PNG currently on train and trial or development contracts, if they can impress in the Bulldogs trial and the Manly match at Kogarah to follow, they will boost their chances of being added to the 30-man NRL roster with positions still to be filled.

In addition to the game in Port Moresby, the Sharks will also undertake promotional and community activities, including a signing session, coaching clinic, a function at the Australian High Commission and a visit to a local school as a part of our continued association with the Kokoda Track Foundation.

The Sharks depart Sydney on Thursday ahead of the game on Saturday, with their travelling squad listed below.
