University of Papua New Guinea to resume classes on May 11th
The University of Papua New Guinea will resume its classes on Monday, May 11th.
In a circular notice released on Monday, UPNG Vice Chancellor Professor Frank Griffin says this will allow all schools, Open College and all service Divisions of the University to create a new blended learning approach that will use both face-to-face teaching and online learning activities.
He says the University has reopened as of yesterday, Monday 27th of April to facilitate staff to continue necessary preparations for teaching to resume, however, resumption of academic activities is still put on hold till Monday 11th of May.
Professor Frank Griffin clarified that due to requirement for social distancing, UPNG will no longer be able to offer classes in the same way that was possible before the State of Emergency and has assured students that this will still allow the full academic year to be completed in 2020.
Meantime, he is urging all students to continue to revise their tutorial and lecture notes during these two weeks. Statement/FM100/PNG Today
