Govt must not allow Link PNG to Merge with PNG Air : Pilot
A pilot has called on the Marape-Steven government and ICCC not to allow Link PNG, subsidiary of Air Niugini to merge with or take over controlling interest of PNGAir. Pilot James Pima of the Heli Solution Helicopters stated via social media that it’s a NO GO and a no brainer. The net effect of this bid is going to spell disaster for the traveling public and business houses. Competition is healthy and it creates/maintains jobs and increased taxes for Government. PNG needs more competition in the Aviation industry, not less.
A free advise to Link PNG/Air Niugini/Government is to partner and create another subsidiary business focusing on the Modern light twins and Single engines and get into the bush strips and get people and agriculture products out, as that is where the money is. You can do this by creating hubs of 2-3 aircrafts with crew stationed in selected townships.
