PNG Prime Minister Marape Hopeful for Normalcy after June

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape is hopeful normalcy returns after June.

Marape says he does not intend for the State Of Emergency to continue after the 02nd of June.

He encouraged citizens to be vigilent and continue to be watchful as the government works to restore life back to normal.

It is understood parliament will sit on June 2, to determine whether the SOE will continue.

Mr. Marape also says the government is taking stock this month on all schools in the country & if there is a resurgence, the government will make decisions in June.

He called on the people not be complacent just because the country confirmed only 8 cases of covid-19, instead people must continue to live with the covid-19 protocols.
