PNG to access K788 Million from Green Climate Fund
Papua New Guinea will soon have access to about K788 million from the Green Climate Fund to help the country and its partners respond to climate change.
This follows the launch of the PNG and Green Climate Fund Country Programme in Port Moresby yesterday.Developed with support from the U.S government, the PNG and GCF Country Programme will facilitate access to the resources needed to build the country's resilience to climate change threats.
Deputy Chief of Mission Bernard Link said the U.S government is pleased to support Pacific Island countries to become more environmentally and disaster-resilient to protect the livelihoods of people.
To date, USAID has supported Pacific Island partners to access more than US$ 202 million in adaptation finance.
