PNG Kumuls Star Aiton Receives PNG Dual citizenship
"This is the greatest 44th Independence gift anybody could ever receive and I'm appreciative to my government, the Government of PNG and its people for giving me this gift which I am receiving at the eve of Independence Day.
Nothing beats the excitement on the face of PNG Kumuls star, Paul Kenneth Aiton, who received his PNG dual citizenship along with his mum Therese Ann today in Port Moresby.
"Now I have a place I call home from now onwards and feel part of it and not a place I visit as a tourist occasionally. This is a place to be, this is where my treasure is, and where my heart will be. I have expressed my inner belonging in the many travels I have made back to PNG", said Mr Aiton.
Paul and his mum were amongst 29 successful recipients who received PNG citizenship by naturalization and dual citizenship this afternoon officiated by Minister for Immigration and Border Security Hon. Petrus Thomas, MP.
Minister Thomas said many of the recipients have contributed immensely to this country in their community, business, sports and it is fitting the Government recognized them as citizens on the eve of Independence.
Congratulations and Welcome our new citizens!
