New Stadium for Port Moresby South
The people of Moresby South now have access to a fully equipped stadium, thanks to local member Justin Tkatchenko.
The K5 million stadium built from the Electorate's District Services Improvement Program fund together with support from the National Capital District Commission can seat 1,500 people with plans for extra seats of up to 4,000.
Moresby South MP and Housing Minister Justin Tkatchenko told NBC News, prior to the launch yesterday, that the stadium is fully equipped.
''We have a fully equipped stadium to house over 4 thousand people, with a gymnasium for the teams, changing rooms, toilet facilities, scoreboards, etc,'' said Justine.
Venue Manager, Bagelo Solien added that the stadium also brings with it job creation for the people of Moresby South.
Prime Minister James Marape, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, and Minister Tkatchenko jointly open the stadium yesterday evening.
