Marape Remains PNG PM
James Marape remains the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea after more than 10 Members from the Opposition joined his Government bench this morning when Parliament reconvened.
They include Sam Basil, Westley Nukundz, Sasindra Muthuvel, Fabian Pok, Joseph Yopyyopy, Kevin Isifu, Nick Kuman, John Pundari, Richard Masere, Francis Maneke, John Kaupa and Peter Yama.
This has brought the Government's numbers to more than 60 MP's and nullified the Opposition's move to mount Vote of No Confidence against the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, the National Budget was tabled by the treasurer and passed it in Parliament today.
Parliament was adjourned to next year 20 April, 2021.
